This educational kiosk is placed in the 'waiting' area for the permanent installation that opened in September 1997. It contains references to life and geological events
beginning 4600 million years ago and highlights 13 time periods.

Description
From this 'timeline' touch screen, a choice of 13 periods can be selected. Each of which then gives choices of "Life forms" at that time, the "World" showing the overall positioning of the continental plates and "Drenthe" the area of Friesland in which the Drents museum has the Geo Explorer exhibition is permanently installed.

It is illustrated with video, animation and photography and has three language options of Dutch, English and German. More on the Geo Explorer Experience.

Alex Rowbotham was commisioned to form the concept and follow through the project to it's completion as art director. He also created all the content holders, backgrounds and contributed a large part of the photograhyof the photography.
